WHAT is a doula?

  • A doula is a non-medical professional perinatal service provider. This includes; physical, emotional, informational, psychosocial and advocacy support during the pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. Community Doulas provide family centered services, that are trauma informed, to encourage safe and respectful care to birthing communities that have been historically marginalized.

Space is limited to 80 families, on a first come first serve basis.

Our doulas are ready to help close the gap in perinatal healthcare. We are ready to connect Black doulas to families in need of support. We are ready to lay the foundation of love and care that our community deserves.

*Our Black Doula Scholarship Awardees are independent contractors. They are not employees of Frontline Doulas or Diversity Uplifts Inc. You will contract directly with them for doula services. You are welcome to read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policies.
